Every Moon is a Witch, & none more so than Scorpio.

Scorpion, serpent, eagle, phoenix, wolf. Scorpionic associations that speak of transformation, death & rebirth, healing powers, instincts & drives.

Scorpio is the Feminine Water Home of Mars, (our Battlestar Eclipsia host). Mars in Gemini is blind to Scorpio for this eclipse, so offers little if any support to the players there. Stationed & ready to rx, He’s manically preoccupied by his multi-projects in Gemini.

I’ve long conceived of these early ︎degrees of Scorpio as “wolfish”, ravenous degrees. An insatiable, passion & compulsion to devour.

Scorpio is the Fall of the Moon. There’s a special poignancy in La Lune passing through the early wolfish degrees of the Scorpion.
This Moon in ︎Scorpio is Mama Wolf, pregnant & exiled from her pack at the start of Winter. Unlike an exalted Moon in ︎Taurus, a Scorpio Moon lacks the abundance of a long fertile season in a greening world to birth & nurture her young.

In ︎Scorpio, Mama Wolf encounters a season of hunger, decreasing light & growing night. In the icy cold, she finds a dark cave, where no light reaches Her - to birth, shelter & protect her cubs; & where she may hide from hungry predators.

Wolf Mama is given the weapons of Mars to hunt & defend - fierce instinct, tooth, claw, & hungry maw. She stalks the perimeter, & sleeps with one eye open. She’s often compelled to feed upon waste & carrion. Resistant to toxins in putrefying flesh, she transforms them into life-giving energy & sweet mother’s milk to nourish Her cubs. She is tender & devoted with her young, teaching them Her fierce ways, protecting them to the death.

A sudden breakage releasing a perfumed essence. Scent-conjured memory & emotion. Awakening. What was real & now is gone? The pretty container is broken, the “genie” is out of the bottle.

What is desire? What is hunger? Need? What is the essence & the essentials? Our Wolf Mamas know.

Lunar & Venusian things will be under pressure. This is despite the cazimi, for La Lune in Her Fall, & Lady Lovefierce in Her detriment are hosted by Mars, & the South Node eclipse recedes & removes like a low tide.
