A tranquil & gentle Moon rises in early Libra, ruled by an exalted Venus in Pisces. La Lune is blind to Her ruler, but nonetheless, this is a Venus shining through Shadows - enthroned, pearlescent. Venus in Pisces is refined in Her Arts, & with great emotional range and literacy having gained maturity with Her recent embrace with Saturn. Saturn though a brackish bedfellow in Pisces, imparts a stern wisdom to Venus, & an understanding of duality).

A clear signature of this lunation is ruler Venus in a sextile to Jupiter in Taurus - a doubly benefic connection that’s noteworthy for its supportive nature. But here we have an added blessing bestowed in the form of a mutual reception.

As the red shadows of the eclipse deepen, & the dragon’s tail uncoils its scales around our House of Libra, we’re released from some fateful flowering. The cycle ends, & we need not fear what’s already come to pass. The karmic harvest is done, & though here be dragons, we need not raise our swords to vanquish them. We need only surrender & allow the tide to take us far from the shore of our worldly hopes, fears, & desires. The same tide will bring us home again as it surges with a new lunar cycle; & a solar eclipse in Aries (April 9th AEST).

Eclipses always come in pairs, figuring as both beginnings in endings, & endings in beginnings. One inevitability threaded through the other. A South Node eclipse offers us a detoxification. A drainage outlet for old sludge that’s accumulated in our lives. And even if certain endings feel unwelcome at the time, they do often facilitate fresh growth. Holding tight with white-knuckled will to the deadwood of our lives only stunts our future flourishing.

With a Libra South Node eclipse, we may find ourselves pulled towards otherworldly concerns, & no longer seek out old ways of relating. This is an opportunity to expel old patterns with grace & compassion (Venus in Pisces) by allowing the release of certain relationships, contracts, or ways of relating that have had their day. Pull the plug on old dramas rather than getting caught up in them. The bonds that remain will be ones to treasure & hold close.

There may also be a weariness with keeping the peace or playing nice if it comes with not being authentically who we are. Look to an exalted Sol for cues on shining courageously & unapologetically.

Libra wisdom understands that homeostasis is not static. A state of balance or equilibrium is never perfected, but involves a dynamic dance of awareness, & a constant negotiation of the You-&-Me shaped space in-between. The space in-between self & other, light & dark, give & take.

We’ve fully entered this Eclipse Season now - that wild, liminal space between the worlds, book-ended by the eclipse ouroboros. Time can take on strange shapes. The past may appear in the present, & the future devours the hungry ghosts of our old fears. There may be a disruption to our usual emotional programming. Just let it wash over you, and observe the ebb. Give good Libra side-eye to astrology that feeds fear whilst offering empty promises.

We’ll remain inside the eclipse Shadow until a Full Moon in Scorpio on the 24th of April breaks the spell. Until then, rest as much as you can, & treat yourself with loving kindness.
