Into the Dreaming - A New Moon in Gemini

Our Maiden Moon is a mutable chimera of (t)winning Gemini wit squared by an inebriation of Piscean absinthe. This is an Air-&-Water dominant lunation, & we may feel a tension between lively sociable communication & aspirations, & the fae, Piscean textures of spirit, fantasy & the numinous.
While our Luminaries are close to feisty Fixed Stars & squaring Neptune, the brilliant host of this NM - Hermes in Gemini has emerged from a square with Bone Mother Saturn in Pisces. Not only this, but on the day of the New Moon, Mercury appears out from under the beams of Sol, rising as an empowered & declarative Morning Star. This is a bright promise coming as La Lune unfurls, & our agile Messenger makes an exact sextile with Venus @ 11° Leo, (as well as with neighbouring Mars also in the Big Cat.)
Imagine a spiderweb at dawn, wrapped in mist & dew, & a butterfly caught fast in the tight weave of its gossamer. As the sun rises its beams strike the web, & are caught fast, the light entangled in the morning mist…
But the butterfly unexpectedly breaks free, & with the delight of all free creatures, appears to rise above the fiery orb of Sol. Hermes liberated & ebullient as a winged emissary in the morning light.
Right now, during the darkest Balsamic hours, we may feel the NM’s melancholic prologue of Saturn in Pisces as it stations retrograde. Stationing points are tricky moments. We may feel a little stuck, tangled in clouded dreams & lower in energy, possibly grief & fear too; for a watery Saturn plugs deep into these tender reservoirs.
A Dark Moon at the best of times is for rest, release & surrender.
Allow for conflicting impulses, tensions, & moody shifts. Beauty may feel more of a necessity than a luxury. Mercury prompts this mood, channelling divine data as He arches towards Venus, stroking Her plush pelt in Leo.
This is not a Moon of high drama & hard emotional labour. Any knots will work themselves out with time (Saturn) & intelligence, (Mercury); also aided by the unravelling offered to us now in the Otherworld. This weekend, it’s ok to surrender & allow for silence & be guided by dreams. Allow for a falling away (& to be away with the fae). To truly let go of what doesn't work. This is not a time to push the barrows of our ideals, nor our burdens up steep hills.
Sleep, pleasure & other somatic nourishments may be the most “productive” options. Replenish your well of inspiration. In the space that's cleared, collaborations, opportunities & growth may bloom in the weeks to come.
