FULL MOON @ 16°01” GEMINI, CONJUNCT MARS, 8th DEC 3:08PM (AEDT).
As Mars waxes full of fire & desire, halfway through His own synodic cycle, (a major turning point); Mistress Moon grows butter fat & beauteous in The Twins…
…Double, double Toil & Trouble as the conjunction heightens the drama.
At least, this may be the flavour for a couple of days. There may be mischief & mayhem, spurs & sparring as we follow the tangled threads of our desire & will; attempting to trace them back to their origins. Back to the heat & heart of the matter.
There may be challenges to our personal power & authority. We may feel confusion over which course of action, or what decision to make - intellectually we may feel divided within ourselves & with others.
But where the mind is divided & contrary the gut often knows, & La Lune heightens our intuition.
Opposite our Mars-Moon union is our knight-errant Sun, quixotic in Sag. Gallantly He shares his firelight, (perhaps oblivious that He may, with his generous spirit, be adding a little too much fuel to the fire). The Sun’s crucial role in illuminating the Mars project reveals to us the root of our Desire - its Source & origin story.
Helpfully, Mercury as host of our FM has moved into cool, earthy Capricorn ︎ (the exaltation of Mars). This Mercury offers a welcome dose of clear-headed reason & practical sense after the diffusive rabble of ideas in Sagittarius ︎, & a rx Mars too quick to misunderstand meaning.
As the exaltation of Mars, ︎Capricorn offers reception now between Mars & Mercury.
As emotions run potent & high, & pass-agg waxes absurd, we’re supported in choosing a cooler logic & discipline over reactivity.
FM support systems: find an outlet for the Mars overflow - a creative, physical, or intellectual activity to channel the energy constructively. Or, as Mr Burns of The Simpsons would say, “find something to do”. But don’t release the hounds (of gossip & back-biting). This Moon is a fox.
As the lunar Mars-tide ebbs, clarity & calmer shores prevail. With Mars still rx we may not surge forward but we’ll know what truly matters to us.
A rebirth of Desire & right action. We’ll see how & where we need to consolidate & focus our energies when moves forward again.
